My earliest memory is living with my brother
and sister in a pile of firewood in the suburbs
of Washington, D.C. We were just four
weeks old. Luckily, we were found by a kind
animal-lover who managed to find homes for
all three of us. My brother Albert went to live
with a veterinarian, my sister Tiamat was
adopted by a surgical assistant, and I found
my way into the home of an animator and his
crochet-crazy wife.
It was The Animator’s Wife that gave me my
love for crochet. She learned the art from her
aunt when she was twelve years old, and
she passed her skills on to me. Now we
spend many an afternoon crocheting together.
